Please Join Us in Celebrating our first DAISY Award honoree Delvin Groat, Critical Care RN.
Delvin was nominated, not just for his ongoing integrity and professionalism, but specifically for one act of incredible compassion. The story is beautiful, inspirational, and heartbreaking. “Delvin always goes above and beyond for all of his patients and is always willing to help his colleagues out even if they are not in the CCU. He recently arranged for 2 patients (a married couple) to be together in one room in the CCU,” said Heather Bertelson, MD. “Delvin moved the couple to an adjoining room and pushed the beds together so that the husband could pass while holding his wife’s hand. Delvin carries this professionalism and compassion daily,” said CCU Director Shannon Johnson, RN. This was act was deeply meaningful to the entire family and an inspiration for us all. Delvin exhibited a shining example of what the DAISY Award stands for, but he also showed us what living the mission and values of HRH can look like. Thank you Delvin!
